Keeping up with the ever increasing costs of our children's activities is difficult and can be impossible at times. AIA is committed to making sure no child misses a camp or club due to financial pressures. Between scholarships and discounts, we seek to make it possible for every child to attend an AIA Action Camp or Club. One of the ways we assist is to help families apply for the Jumpstart program. This is not an AIA program. Jumpstart is funded and monitored by Canadian Tire. But AIA can help you to apply.

Do I Qualify for a Jumpstart Grant?

Canadian Tire Jumpstart Charities uses Revenue Canada data to determine low income. If you fall within a low income bracket based on the chart below, you will be eligible to apply. But this does not guarantee funding. For example, a family of four (2 partners and two children) making less than $54,594 combined (all income in the home) will qualify to apply for funding.

Registering for the Camp or Club

Using the Jumpstart discount code (Jumpstart), you can register your child for the camp or club of your choice for free. We will then be looking for the Jumpstart cheque in the mail to cover your registration fees. If Jumpstart does not approve your application for any reason, we will contact you to discuss other payment arrangements if possible. The next step is for you to complete the Jumpstart application on their website.

Creating a Jumpstart Account

1. Go to: https://jumpstartgrants.smartsimple.ca/s_Login.jsp?lang=1
2. You will need to log in or create an account and then log in. To create an account, click the Register button in the bottom left corner.
   
3. After registering and creating an account, you will receive an email to activate your account. Go to your email, find the email from Canadian Tire Charities and follow the link in the email.
   
   
   
   
   
4. Activate your account by following the link in the email and creating a new password.
   
   
   Click submit and your account is now set up and ready to use. You can log in and apply for grants for your children.
   
   
   
5. On the home page after logging in, click on APPLY
   
   
   
   
6. The next page will ask some basic questions to determine if y ou qualify to apply for a grant. You will need your Child Tax Credit document (digital to be uploaded) and your previous year's income tax return or Notice of Assessment from Canada Revenue Agency. If you do not have a Child Tax Benefit form, you may not qualify for a Jumpstart grant.
